My name is Luke Ritson. Born in the UK, I moved to South-East Asia during my High School and College years. There I was enrolled into an International School where I first found my love for film making, producing my entire year's valedictory as a 45-Minute film of 38 individual Shorts and having the time of my life doing so. I have a deep knowledge and appreciation for what technology can bring to the modern world and especially in film making.
I find myself attracted to the forefront of ‘state of the art’ technology, as well as the marriage of that technology with unique and interesting ideas. This is because I believe the combination of these can create and evoke powerful reactions, on an cultural scale; something which I've wanted to be a part of ever since i laid eyes celluloid.
I currently work with a host of programs and tools to get the best possible result. Motion Graphics are created in Adobe After Effects, with Photoshop riding shotgun. I use Final Cut Pro for all your editing needs, and deliver on any format thats required, be it Web, DVD or Broadcast.
With the emergence of RED I've been involved in the production of Four RED projects, and know the workflow processes throughout capture to master. Future strings to the bow will be The Foundry's 'Nuke' and Cinema4D for both powerful compositing and 3D. Finally, I am Mac and PC based, working out of an Apple Mac Pro for speed and reliability.
I offer a London based, accredited editor and effects specialist - delivering broadcast quality results reliably, with cost effective high quality effects and editing production for leading national clients. A proven track record in meeting tight deadlines with a full grasp of the production environment from concept to finish.
Here are some of a few quotes about my work:
"As an editor, Luke is an insightful, diligent and collaborative partner with a true passion for all aspects of the post-production process. His work as a motion-graphic artist is truly first-class, combining creative flair, stylistic intuition and an impassioned desire to deliver concepts that will consistently exceed expectations."
- Brian White, Producer/Director, Tiger Rock Ltd.
"Over the last few months I have worked with Luke Ritson on a number of projects.
Two Guinness pitch films which played a major part in our winning 50 million pounds worth of business, a T-Mobile website film where Luke brought to life a boring two page graphic with some subtle and sympathetic animation and the Carlsberg “Announcement” viral that recently won “Pick of the Week” in Campaign magazine and is currently talk of the town.
I’ve really enjoyed working with Luke, and have been really happy with everything he’s worked on for us, and hope we’ll continue to work together in the future."
- Toby Clifton, Senior TV Producer, Saatchi & Saatchi/London
